Superbowls on Superbowl Sunday
Hard to believe you can still find and surf (for the first time) another world class wave in your hometown with only a handful of guys out. Me, Steven Legate and Jimmy Wilkinson were blessed with a-frame perfection, which we aptly named the spot “Superbowls” because of the wave’s bowling characteristics. We scored for hours before Eli Manning and the NY Giants upset Tom Brady and the New England Patriots during Superbowl 46. GoPro footage of the day edited soon…

Just landed back home on Oahu and am a bit jet-lagged. Looked at the Surfline forecast which revealed the winter Northshore season is still in full throttle!

Small but fun here in Costa!
Waves have been clean but on the small side. We had a couple days of head high conditions. The last four days have been waist high or less. This time of year is clean with less wind and rain but also less consistent in size. Another small swell expected this weekend. Aside from the surf, Costa Rica has an incredible amount of beauty and adventure for those willing to travel the road less traveled…
