-Freedom Riding Surf Shop in Mal Pais, Costa Rica
Our business partner in Costa Rica, Andy Seidensticker, has recently opened the 1st Freedom Riding Surf Shop and stand up paddle boarding (SUP) tour service in Mal Pais. SUP is incredibly enjoyable and provides an excellent full-body workout. The sport is easy to learn and our tours can be tailored to any skill level. The SUP tours begin at the beach in front of the soccer field in Mal Pais (near the fishing village) where clients receive a 20 minute explanation of the equipment, fundamentals and techniques involved with SUP. Tours include a visit to the famous Cabo Blanco Reserve, where you’ll get an amazing view of the reserve from the water, followed by a paddle towards Mar Azul point. The tour takes about two hours depending on your skill level and speed preferences. It is ideal to begin this paddle board tour either in the morning from 7:00-9:00 A.M. or in the late afternoon from 3:30-4:30 P.M. to avoid the intense mid-day sun. There is no minimum of how many people can go, so one person is fine.
Shop hours are from 9am to 6pm daily, and Sunday 9am-noon.
