Freedom Riding is the unique, active-lifestyle brand, built by a team of passion-driven photographer’s, artists and athletes in the action sports community. Freedom represents positive lifestyles that are fueled by personal passions; art, athleticism, cinematography, music, volunteering and being constructive in their community. The power of positive thinking and giving unconditional love for one another is the foundation of the human spirit as life is filled with choices by which we manifest our own destiny. Freedom strives to inspire others in following their hopes and aspirations.
Roots: Born on the beach of Kaneohe, Hawaii in 2005, US Navy Diver (2C) / Photographer’s Mate (PH) and devoted surfer, Nathan Carl had a personal dream of getting underground athletes and artists recognized for their abilities. He felt that the majority of our fellow brothers and sisters were never recognized for their abilities or attributes. His love for photography gave him the opportunity to document these individuals. The company originated with his closest friends and fellow veterens: Steven Legate, Richard Dandeneau and Tommy Chorman. Also, the US Navy “Deep Sea” Diving Community has been ultra-supportive since day one by helping spread the trademarked “Freedom Eagle” around the globe. Freedom’s newest partner and professional cinematographer, Freddy Malone, has joined as the Team Manager on Oahu.
Since beginning on the beaches in Hawaii, the Freedom team has traveled and filmed venues around the globe: Australia, California, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Fiji, Guatemala, Mexico and the Outer Banks. Experiencing the various cultures from their globe-trotting, Freedom united ideas, further amplifying the foundation of the company.
In December 2007, Freedom partnered with AccesSurf which, the staff states as being “an absolute blessing.”
Accessurf is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping disabled children and adults with the healing power of ocean therapy. Through Accessurf, Freedom has also rallied with the Wounded Warrior Project. The program is similar to AccesSurf, in which they empower and help injured veterans reunite with the ocean. More recently, Freedom has merged with Ocean Tech Inc, an innovative surf accessory company based out of Costa Rica, Central America. This merger has expanded Freedom’s product line with professional surf accessories to its roots in Hawaii. Further plans include their expansion globally.
The goal of Freedom Riding is to be known as a selfless passion-driven company that is dedicated to continue designing innovative and functional products to the millions of unknown and unsung heroes they represent around the world. Utilizing their team of professional artists, athletes and photographers has solidified the company’s foundation. The Freedom Riding website is the digital platform to showcase the ever growing team they represent.
